The Place Where I Review Digital Media
My Favourite Movies/TV Shows/YouTube Videos
This page is focused around my reviews of different media productions, as shown by the title. Note that these opinions are mine and mine alone, and that this list is in no specific order.
1. 21 Jump Street

Plot: After Schmidt, a dork, and Jenko, a jock, graduate high school, they join the same police force and end up as partners. They now ride around on bikes at the city park, looking for criminals, when they find someone from a biker gang. They catch him but fail to read his Miranda rights, and end up being assigned to a project revived by Captain Dickinson to pretend to be high school students and infiltrate a drug ring supplying the school.
My Review: This is one of if not the best movies to have ever released. Schmidt’s kind of smart but not remotely athletic personality, combined with Jenko’s dumb but extremely athletic personality go hand in hand. The situational irony combined with sheer chaos, and the incredibly dumb ending make for a cinematic masterpiece.
2. Hacksaw Ridge

Plot: Desmond Doss is enlisted into the army as a combat medic after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, but refuses to carry a gun due to his Christian belief that “Thou shalt not kill”. As a result, he is tormented by his drill sergeants and his fellow soldiers to leave, but he stays nevertheless. After his training, he is deployed to Okinawa, tasked to secure the Maeda Escarpment, or “Hacksaw Ridge”.
My Review: This movie is by far one of the best action movies I’ve ever watched. With the realistic and brutal scenes, combined with the idea that plot should be explained with actions rather than word, it makes for an unforgettable movie.
3. House M.D.

Plot: Dr. House is a medical genius, doesn’t act like one. He routinely ignores cases that he doesn’t find interesting, and will unprofessionally yet correctly diagnose someone if they have something like a common cold.
My Review: Dr. House is the best character ever. He could walk into a room, throw a ball at a patient, and diagnose him with tuberculosis, and he’d be right. The idea that he can do he most abstract things and get away with it makes this one of my favourite shows.
4. John Wick

Plot: After losing his wife to a terminal illness, former assassin John Wick receives a beagle named Daisy to help cope with his grief. He is later confronted by a Russian mob, led by a young man named Iosef, who try to buy his car. John refuses the offer, and the mob later raids his house, knocking John unconscious, stealing his car, and killing his dog. Iosef visits a chop shop to have the VIN changed, but the owner recognizes the car and kicks Iosef out of the shop. Iosef then is confronted by his father, Viggo Tarasov, who is also the head of the Russian crime syndicate in New York. Viggo beats Iosef and tells him of John Wick’s previous life as an assassin, and how John worked for him and managed to pull off an “impossible task” involving multiple assassinations in a short period of time. During Viggo’s explanation, John Wick is back at his destroyed house, breaking part of the floor with a sledgehammer, to reveal a suitcase filled with guns and and ammunition.
My Review: My favourite movies are movies with more action than explanation, and this movie is a perfect example. It emphasizes on long one take scenes rather than a bunch of cut scenes put together, and doesn’t feature anything unrealistic, instead focusing on simple yet action-packed combat. All in all, if you like action movies, this is a must see.
5. Sethical

Plot: Sethical makes a series of videos featuring different characters, such as “bread guy”, and “cop guy”. All they do is talk loudly and warp into the 4th dimension.
My Review: The guy’s funny. He says the loud words and you laugh, never been simpler.
